Have wanted to come here for a while, and we stopped in for dinner on our LA Top Chef tour. It's really nice inside, open with light colors. We were seated right away and quickly given water. Our server was Freddy and he was awesome. Very pleasant and quick with suggestions and advice on how much to order etc. He told us we had to get the green beans since she won a top chef challenge with them. Also said they bring the food out as it's ready so it could come out in a different order then we ordered it. We wanted to try a lot so we ordered the blueberry cornbread, goat liver mousse, green beans, oysters, salmon poke, pork belly and roasted carrots. The oysters came out first, and they were very good. You get 2 with each order and they were done with sausage butter. Very tasty and a good start. Blueberry cornbread was good, the cream cheese was a nice touch and it was hot and delicious The goat liver was really good, very rich and served with jam, crackers, craisin relish and crumpets. The crumpets were too greasy for me, was more like a fried dough. Very tasty but with the rich mousse it was a lot. Green beans were out next and were unbelievable. So good, very tasty with a nice bite to them. Clear to see why she won with them. The salmon poke was out of their world good. My wife ate it all, and she never finishes anything. The pork belly was next, and I originally wanted the sticky pork shank, but a Freddy said if you're gonna get a pork, get the belly and add naan to it to make little tacos, and he was spot on. It was so good, I chowed it all. It was about this time we realized we never got the carrots. At this point, we were done with everything and didn't really want just a pile of carrots, so we asked to cancel them and they did. I love carrots and was disappointed we didn't get to try. The drinks were good as well. I had the old fashioned and it was very good. I prefer them a little sweeter but no complaints. Also had the Girl and the Goat red wine and it was very good. For desert we got the oyster scoop and the miso strawberry shortcake. Both were really good. Some black magic with the oyster scoop, not sure how they do it or what's in it but it was so good! Really great experience and would definitely come back. Our next Top Chef city is gonna be Chicago, so we'll probably pop into the one there!

Brunch at Girl & The Goat was crazy good. I love that they mix up the cuisines and flavors to create a brunch experience that is different than most. Johnny provided great descriptions of each item on the menu and recommended some highlights for us. Items we tried include: Potato crepe (10/10) Crabby pork belly omelette (8/10) Blueberry sourdough pancakes (8/10) Short rib chilaquiles (9/10) Sichuan spiced tomato-peanut salad (10/10) The brunch potatoes (8/10) Donut holes (9/10) Cinnabon (8/10) The perfect order for me would probably be the potato crepe (maybe 2 orders if enough people), either the veggie or pork belly omelette, chilaquiles, tomato-peanut salad and finish off with the donut holes! Brunch potatoes were tasty but probably wouldn't order again just because they weren't super necessary. Pancakes were good but I'm not a big fan of sweet breakfast items aside from an occasional French toast. The best part of the omelette was probably the toppings and sauce. My friend really liked the Cinnabon but it wasn't better than a regular one to me. Ambiance is great with lots of sunlight and a nice bar area. I've been trying to get here for years and glad I finally came! I'll definitely be trying dinner sometime.

10 stars! We came here for our 18th anniversary dinner and we were both blown away by how delicious this meal was, neither of us expected to love it as much as we did. There is free street parking, but it was all taken when we visited. We parked in a garage just a few steps away from the restaurant and it was $16 for two hours. This is a really pretty space, open and bright with lots of windows and tons of plants. Our server was kind of slow, but he got the job done, and the food was so fantastic that it made up for what he was lacking. Naan & Dips - One massive piece of hot, fresh, light naan bread covered in fried garlic, scallions, and something else crispy, not sure what it was. Their tzatziki and carrot hummus are freakin AMAZING. Green Beans - Their fish sauce aioli, cashews, and thinly sliced shallots paired perfectly with the slightly charred beans. Best green beans I have ever had, so salty and delicious. Sticky Glazed Pork Shank - WOW. I cannot even begin to describe the flavor of the pork glaze, I think maybe it had Chinese 5 Spice on it? It was incredible. The description of the dish sounded odd, but let me tell you, everything worked! The blueberry tomato salad tasted like toasted sesame oil and ginger, the melon salad was slightly pickled, crisp, and refreshing. Both sauces - hoisin mayo and hot mustard - were packed with flavor. You are given more naan bread and lettuce to make wraps, I preferred the lettuce as it was lighter and went great with the rich, succulent pork. Confit Goat Belly - I have never had goat before, it was quite similar to a pork belly, but seemed even richer. This was a pretty small piece of meat, which was fine because it was so heavy and we were getting pretty full from eating the pork shank. It was served with a yummy yogurt, loads of veggies, and had a goat fat butter on it that made it even more of a filling dish. Brownie Sundae - I don't know what we were thinking ordering dessert, we were both so full, but we did it anyway. This was my least favorite plate. The brownie itself was fudgy and had a great flavor, but the combo of super sour grapes and intensely flavored sesame crunch bites was just not for me. My husband definitely liked it more than I did. Girl & The Goat has gone to the top of the best restaurants we have ever eaten at. We already decided to go back with friends so we can try more of the menu. I'm super happy we came here for our special occasion!

Awesome atmosphere, unique menu options, and delicious cocktails! A few things to note if its your first time: its a smallish sharing plate style restaurant that emphasizes groups trying multiple dishes together. Not quite family-style in the sense that each plate isn't large but also dishes aren't necessarily meant to be for an individual. My personal recommendation is to do about 2-3 dishes per person at your table give and take! This takes it a bit on the pricier side of things, but its worth the experience. Lots of dishes pictured here, but I was a particularly big fan of the whole branzino fish which was seasoned in what I would call southeast-asian inspired fashion, and the goat curry (though I would only recommend this to fans of gamier meats, even though the restaurant does a great job of playing to the strengths of goat).
